Basic Office Ergonomics Assessment

Ergobiz offer brief individualised assessments designed to ensure correct workstation set-up. These assessments are a cost-effective way of preventing injury and pain for an individual or groups of employees. The Occupational Therapist will ensure that employee workstations are set up in an ergonomically correct manner to minimise the risk of injury, reduce operator fatigue and discomfort, and thus maximise productivity.

The ergonomic assessments are customisable, and will be tailored to suit your specific industry, your staff and their specific requirements.

A formal report will be generated immediately following an assessment and provided to the individual employee and their supervisor. Human Resources can also be provided a copy of the report to abide by their WHS Obligations.

Ergobiz ergonomic assessments include the following:

  • Analysis of the employee – job requirements and their current posture.
  • Evaluation of all components of the workstation – chair, desk, keyboard, mouse, monitors, phone, document holder and the positioning of these at the workstation.
  • Optimum reach, maximum reach and outer reach zones to reduce the strain at the workstation.
  • Discussion of rest and stretch breaks throughout the day, and simple range of motion exercises, to minimise injuries.
  • Handouts provided to all employees to enable ongoing independent ergonomic adjustment
  • Cost effective advice, and Ergonomic Programs to fit your work schedule and budget
  • Recommendation of equipment to suit the individual worker’s requirements. It is standard practice for Ergobiz to exhaust all alternate solutions (education, adjustment of existing equipment, task modification, use of equipment within the workplace) prior to recommending the purchase of new ergonomic equipment.

We recommend maximising the benefits of your workplace ergonomic assessment by putting your staff through our 1 hour office Ergonomics Training, conducted at your workplace, followed by the ergonomic assessments.
