Our Services

Ergobiz offer brief individualised assessments designed to ensure correct workstation set-up. These assessments are a cost-effective way of preventing injury and pain for an individual or groups of employees. The Occupational Therapist will ensure that employee workstations are set up in an ergonomically correct manner to minimise the risk of injury, reduce operator fatigue and discomfort, and thus maximise productivity.
The ergonomic assessments are customisable, and will be tailored to suit your specific industry, your staff and their specific requirements.
A formal report will be generated immediately following an assessment and provided to the individual employee and their supervisor. Human Resources can also be provided a copy of the report to abide by their WHS Obligations.
Ergobiz ergonomic assessments include the following:
- Analysis of the employee – job requirements and their current posture.
- Evaluation of all components of the workstation – chair, desk, keyboard, mouse, monitors, phone, document holder and the positioning of these at the workstation.
- Optimum reach, maximum reach and outer reach zones to reduce the strain at the workstation.
- Discussion of rest and stretch breaks throughout the day, and simple range of motion exercises, to minimise injuries.
- Handouts provided to all employees to enable ongoing independent ergonomic adjustment
- Cost effective advice, and Ergonomic Programs to fit your work schedule and budget
- Recommendation of equipment to suit the individual worker’s requirements. It is standard practice for Ergobiz to exhaust all alternate solutions (education, adjustment of existing equipment, task modification, use of equipment within the workplace) prior to recommending the purchase of new ergonomic equipment.
We recommend maximising the benefits of your workplace ergonomic assessment by putting your staff through our 1 hour office Ergonomics Training, conducted at your workplace, followed by the ergonomic assessments.

Comprehensive Ergonomic Assessments are an extension of the Basic Office Assessment and are more detailed and thorough targeting injured employees to ensure their workstation is ergonomically adjusted to reduce the risk of symptom/condition aggravation. Medical history and current status is assessed and incorporated when providing education to the injured employee and into the report.
A detailed report outlining observations, adjustments made and recommendations is provided to the employer and employee.

These days, more and more employees are working from home. However, correct ergonomic design in home offices is often overlooked, with home-based employees often more at risk of injury and there is an increased costs associated with it.
Employees generally set-up their own home office and may make poor choices when it comes to the type of chair used and desk measurements, for example, sitting on a non-adjustable dining room chair at a dining table of incorrect height.
Ergobiz have designed an ergonomic assessment customised to the home office ensuring the employee remains safe and without risk to health while completing their duties abiding by the ultimate ergonomic design. They are instructed on how to set up their workspace and educated on the importance of regular stretch breaks. Other components considered in the assessment include over-loaded power points, the presence of smoke alarms, trip hazards and clutter-free exits from the home among other factors.

Ergobiz facilities Ergonomic Training designed to provide your workforce with education on basic ergonomic principles and self-management strategies. It is a practical and interactive 1 hour training session with emphasis on correct posture and ergonomics to help prevent potential injury in the workplace.

- What is ergonomics?
- Anatomy of the Spine

“Every year in New South Wales, approximately 17,000 people are seriously injured or suffer from illness related to manual handling” – WorkCover NSW 2012
Manual Handling training can be tailored to your company’s specific tasks and needs. Ergobiz trainers will firstly conduct an onsite visit to your workplace to discuss your manual handling hazards and risks and to observe workers performing their usual manual handling tasks. Photos and video will be taken of manual handling tasks being performed. These will be incorporated into the presentation and training session. From the observations made, incorrect techniques will be addressed with recommendations for improvements.
Many injuries can be avoided if correct manual handling techniques are used or tasks are modified to remove continuous repetition, poor posture or a prolonged static work position.
Ergobiz provides general information about how manual handling affects the body as well as basic techniques to lift and move things safely. We address specific issues that you may have in your workplace and include that in our course.
This training assists workers and managers in reducing the risk of injuries specifically related to exposure to hazardous manual tasks in the jobs they undertake.
Topics covered include:
- Introduction
- What is manual handling?
- The mechanics of the spine, shoulders and knees
- How injuries occur
- Identifying risks in manual handling
- Assessing and controlling risk
- SMART lifting technique
- Practical session
- Exercise session
